Now Reading…

One week since my last post!ย  I’m slacking, but I managed to celebrate a birthday and a holiday, head to the lake, and climb two mountains (as seen on Instagram).

Clearly I’m reading, I’m just not reviewing as much. I need to force myself to get on some sort of reliable schedule, but the rebel in me shoots it down every time. One of my least favorite lingering traits from childhood is that I hate doing the things I’m “supposed” to do. I thought you were supposed to outgrow that… Adulting is hard.

Reading July 5th

This week I’m reading Hallowe’en Party by Agatha Christie (this one may not be finished, not loving it) and Bull Mountain by Brian Panowich (so far, so great – I should devote an entire post to my love of grit lit). I also finished Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret? and really enjoyed it.

What are you reading?

Halloweโ€™en Party is definitely not one of Christie’s best.

Agreed. I recently read Murder in Mesopotamia and it was much better.

I love your photos, Rory, so this time I’m glad you are doing other things instead of reviewing because I like to see them ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t get through Hallowe’en Party! A few Octobers ago I picked it up, thinking it would be the perfect intro to Christie’s work…only to be horribly let down. Since then I’ve read several others and have loved them, so I’m assuming that one just wasn’t one of her best (especially for someone just getting into her books!)

I decided to DNF it, life is too short for bad books.

“Adulting is hard”. Yep. Second that. On a different note, your pics are gorgeous and you have a great eye. Do you use any special camera?

It SOOO is. And thank you! I do not use anything special, I use my iPhone 4.
