Every year I write an ode to how much I love autumn, this year is no different, though perhaps a bit earlier than usual (being that it’s still august). I’m just that excited for weather that is not 95 and sunny. Bring on all the boots, tights, scarves, and flannel that I can wear, as well as all things pumpkin and spooky.
I think I’m down to only one bookish event each year, but it just happens to be my favorite: RIP. It’s in its tenth year and is being hosted by Estella Society. What is RIP X exactly?
“RIP is one of our favorite events, so when Carl asked us to host, we practically jumped out of our skins with excitement! 10 years is quite an accomplishment for any event, so we’re glad you’re here to celebrate with us!
Without further ado, pick your poison, won’t you? September 1st is here, and we’re ready to begin!
Or anything sufficiently moody that shares a kinship with the above.”
The challenge runs through October 31st. If you’re reading this, you should absolutely join. You can read as much or as little as you want, with whatever level of scariness you are comfortable with. The rules are simple:
1. Have fun reading (and watching).
2. Share that fun with others.
My plans include: Christine // Stephen King, The Witches of Eastwick // John Updike, Dawn of the Dead (movie), The Ocean at the End of the Lane // Neil Gaiman, Last House on the Left (original movie). More to be determined as my mood dictates or as I come up with ideas.
