Literary Mixtapes

Literary Mixtape

As an alternative for a review, synopsis, or anything of the like, I decided to create literary mixtapes for certain books. Some book mixtapes are personal favorites, some are just for fun, and some are because I couldn’t find anything nice to say (these are rare). Please note that quite a bit of this is intended to be playful and irreverent.

Christine by Stephen King
Flowers in the Attic by V. C. Andrews

‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King

American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis

The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe

The Stand by Stephen King

Tess of the D’Ubervilles by Thomas Hardy
The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Empire Falls by Richard Russo
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Literary Mixtapes is genius! I also tend to make soundtracks in my head when reading a book. At the early stages of blogging I would review a book and then post a song that I thought would be on the soundtrack (if there was one). Love it! 🙂

This is such a great idea for a blog. I really love it – good on you for being so creative! I’ve got a blog about books (and tea) if you’d like to check it out –
